Bright Lights in Glendale Arizona!

Got Power?

Since we are  using 99% LED's, our overall load should be less than 30 amps total with EVERYTHING on!

Since our main panel is on the back of the house, we needed the power in the front!

We  didn't want anything permanent, such as a sub panel.

Our  solution? A temporary power distribution box that contractors use, called a "spider box". This

gives us a safe UL Listed, 100 amp solution, with 6 20 amp GFCI circuits.  A little overkill, but very safe!

Kim gave me 1 rule for getting power from the back to the front, the cable  could not run along the wall like it did

in 2007.  The Cable for the spider box is a 6/3,81 cable and is thicker than a garden hose. To keep Kim happy I

came up with a way to run the cable through the attic to the front.  RV's use a similar cable to hook up at RV Parks. I

found hinged covers that allow the cable to run through, but closes up nicely  when not in use.
