Make your own Net/Grid lights!
There are 2 small shrubs in the front that I had to replace since they decided to die off a year or so back, so they are much smaller than the middle one. I could never get lights to lay on then right since they are small, and have not filled out good yet. A regular set of net/grid lights like on the other 2 shrubs just would not fit! So I decided to create my own smaller set of Net/Grid lights for them.
I used some small green floral wire to make the net as Kim had a whole roll. (You can use anything you want, fishing line, old wire from those broken lights, twine, etc. )
The light sets were 60 lights, so I decided on 5 rows of 12. and space them close to what the light set were. I then counted of each 12 and marked between #12 and #13.
I started by making a Jig with some left over foam board and a piece of 1x2 scraps, to keep the spacing close to the same throughout the net. I made my jig 3 inches between rows.
I tied off the bottom row, then threaded it through my jig loosely tying off each row. It took me about 30 minutes to do each set. This gave me BIG ideas for some stuff next year!!! I will make my own Nets for now on as they create a much better LPSI (lights per square inch)!
